This promises to be a very fascinating show. Curated by Paul Scott, and including amongst many other excellent artists, work by Jenni Dutton and Jacy Wall – that’s three Nature of Mending artists involved! Also included in Bridget Harvey, who will join us for Mending Revealed at Bridport Arts Centre in March 2016.
Plans progress for the next Nature of Mending show, ‘Mending Revealed’. Opening in March 2016 at Bridport Arts Centre in Dorset, the show will include all of the original Nature of Mending artists (see project archive page) plus new invited artists. So far I am really pleased to include artist/sculptor/bookmaker Louise Baker (http://www.louisepbaker.co.uk/index.html ) and artist/maker/repair expert Bridget Harvey ( http://bridgetharvey.co.uk/about/ ). Bridget is currently working on a PhD on Mending/Repair, which may include a case study of Nature of Mending. She is also involved with https://thedepartmentofrepair.wordpress.com/ at Camberwell. The work about repair by the original five artists, (Paul Scott, Jenni Dutton, Jacy Wall, Guy Martin, Lisa Earley) has continued to evolve, so the 2016 show whilst still reflecting the excellence of the 2013 exhibition, will be fresh and full of new thoughts and ideas.
